It’s hard to believe a guy named Joey Shithead could change your life. But after seeing DOA in Vancouver B.C. in 1978, I had a little glimpse of how life could be different… and way more exciting.

Call me an idealist, but shouldn’t music give you a rush? I got the biggest charge from hearing "Blitzkreig Bop" by the Ramones for the first time and goddamn if I didn’t get the same charge from hearing The Wasters for the first time. I felt like I was flyin’ on a hit of the same speed The Wasters were singing about. Whew!

Hell’s bells, brothers and sisters, great music is timeless, and can be found in the darnedest places…be it 1979 or today. Energy… you feel connected, you feel alive.
